As a result of extended SW activities within Transportation Business, Thales is currently recruiting for its Interlocking Module team a Software Verification Engineer for the new generation interlocking module.

Job description:

  • develop a Software Verification Plan (which may include quality issues) stating what needs verification and what type of process (e.g. review, analysis etc.) and test is required as evidence
  • check the adequacy (completeness, consistency, correctness, relevance and traceability) of the documented evidence from review, integration and testing with the specified verification objectives
  • identify anomalies, evaluate these in risk (impact) terms, record and communicate these to relevant change management body for evaluation and decision
  • manage the verification process (review, integration and testing) and ensure independence of activities as required
  • shall develop and maintain records on the verification activities
  • shall develop a Verification Report stating the outcome of the verification activities

The activities will be performed in close co-operation with experts in Bucharest / Stuttgart / Berlin / Viena.

Requested technical competence:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Transportation, Computer Science or similar
  • Experience in Software Development
  • Experience in Software Requirements management
  • Experience in Software Quality activities (SW quality, unit testing, product testing)
  • Experience in UML Diagrams (mainly Activity Diagrams, Sequence Diagrams and State Machines) to understand the model based specification
  • Experience with safety relevant systems
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards like IEC 61508/61511, ISO 26262 or similar (preferred CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 50159)
  • Microsoft Office Tools
  • Advance level of English

Knowledge of the following is a plus:

  • Knowledge of EN 50128 Cenelec normative
  • Experience in Railway Application Development is a plus
  • Experience with Modelling Tools (like Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, …)
  • Jira; Gradle; Git as repository
